As a visual storyteller my work has evolved from years of illustrating and writing children’s books to creating mixed media narrative art that addresses issues of longing and loss, mourning and redemption in personal love relations. Like the blues, the airing of the pain brings forth the healing.
These are works about loss and its emotional tug and toll, but also work that speaks of beauty and resolution and the transcendence that prevails. In these I paint on paper, then cut, paste, rearrange and assemble imagery to tell the story.
My craving for the tactile keeps me bound to traditional printmaking,
painting and collage – however my interest in new technologies has
pushed me to explore digital processes and the fusion of them all.
